Recording New Album!

Randy and I are excited to announce that we have started recording our follow-up album to “Minnesota Lumberjack Songs” this month. Whereas “Minnesota Lumberjack Songs” was more of a solo project for me, this album (currently without a title) is much more of a duo effort.  Randy and I have been choosing material and experimenting with arrangements for a year and a half and we’re very excited to be in the wonderful Hideaway Studio in Minneapolis with engineer Joe Mabbott putting these great old songs and tunes on a recording!

We’re hoping to have the finished product by May or June of this year.

Best,

Brian

Lumber Camp Songs in Arizona

Randy and I had a great week teaching at the Grand Canyon Celtic Arts Academy in Flagstaff, AZ (July 17-19) and performing the Irish Songs from the Lumber Camps show at the Arizona Highland Celtic Festival!

We also enjoyed our outdoor concert at the beautiful (and historically appropriate) Riordan Mansion in Flagstaff.  The Riordan’s were Irish-American lumber company owners from Chicago who helped establish Flagstaff when the logging industry expanded southward (from the Midwest) in the late 1800s.  There are photos from this concert on the PHOTOS page.

April 2012 Radio Interview with Randy and Brian

KWLM in Willmar, MN has an interview we did last month up on their website.  We had a good time visiting with Todd Bergeth on the KWLM’s “Open Mic” program on the morning of April 27th.

Here we are talking about the song “Roll Drivers Roll” and performing it live in the studio: Open_Mic_KWLM_4-27_Roll_Drivers

Click here to hear the entire interview and performance.  Thanks to Todd and KWLM for supporting live music in the Willmar area!
